About Us
Pi Chi Omega was founded in 1950 by seven entomologists at Purdue University who recognized the importance of placing science at the heart of the growing urban and structural pest management industry. While our membership initially consisted of a small, elite group of degreed entomologists, today our vibrant community includes more than 450 professionals — pest management professionals, manufacturers, researchers, professors, students, and others who are passionate about the science of pest control.
As a non-profit organization, Pi Chi Omega fosters a collaborative environment where technical knowledge is freely shared among engaged members, helping to elevate the professionalism and expertise within the urban pest management field.
We are also a social organization — a fraternity of sorts — that brings members together at key industry events such as PestWorld and other national and regional conferences. These gatherings create valuable opportunities for networking, learning, and community-building.
Pi Chi Omega invests in the future of the industry by awarding scholarships to students pursuing degrees in entomology and providing grants to professionals seeking to grow in their careers. Through our expanding portfolio of programs, we empower members to share their passion for entomology, champion the structural pest management profession, and inspire the next generation of industry leaders.
